How to Protect Your Locs While You Sleep

You spend a third of your life asleep, and your pillowcase is quietly working against your locs the whole time. Cotton pillowcases pull moisture out of your hair and create friction that leads to frizz and breakage at the root.

The fix is simple: sleep on a satin or silk pillowcase, or better yet, wrap your locs in a satin bonnet or scarf before bed. This one small habit protects your retwist longer, keeps moisture locked in, and can genuinely add months of life to a fresh style.
