🌱 Reflection: Learning Patience Brick by Brick

Reflection

Today, my blog is about reflection — and I think I may have finally touched patience, or maybe patience touched me.

Yesterday was rough. I was stressed trying to transfer my cable from Xfinity to AT&T. My anxiety was through the roof, and I just couldn’t get it done. Finally, I called my husband, and he stepped in and made the transfer for me.

This morning, I sat in reflection. What I learned is this: patience is the only way things truly get done. Great things are not rushed. Lasting things are built in order, one piece at a time.

A sturdy house doesn’t appear overnight. First comes the foundation. Then the plumbing. Then the wiring, the bolts, the screws, the brick. Order creates strength.

I know this because I watched it with my own eyes — the house being built right next to me, brick by brick, day by day. I also watched the woman who owned that home. At first, she looked discouraged, unsure if her house would ever be finished. But when she finally walked in with her new baby on her hip, the gratitude on her face was undeniable. Her patience bore fruit.

Even living next door, I couldn’t see the vision. To me, it was just dirt and scattered materials. I asked my husband why I couldn’t picture the house. He said, “Because you’re not an architect.”

That hit me. Life is like that. Sometimes we can’t see the end result because we aren’t the architect. But God is. And all we need to do is trust, stay patient, and let the plan unfold.

Life is funny that way.

Would you like me to make a shorter Instagram version of this too, so you can share the same reflection as a quick post with your audience? By: Elisabeth O’Veal Minor
